Caller ID on TV

  • Once enabled on a digital or TiVo box, the name and number information of the incoming call is displayed on the TV (it takes up to 24 hours after activation to appear on-screen).
  • The caller information will be displayed in the top left section of the TV for 8 seconds.

  • To dismiss the Caller ID message before it goes away on its own, click the OK/Select or Exit buttons on the remote.
  • Caller ID message will NOT be recorded within a DVR recorded program.
  • Caller ID will be defaulted as an 'Enabled' feature.

Note: Call forwarding does not work with Caller ID on TV

Managing Caller ID Preferences

Customers can use our CommPortal tool to manage several phone settings, including Caller ID.

  1. "Withhold Caller ID when Making Calls"

    Prevents caller ID from being displayed on outgoing phone calls.

  2. "Provide Caller ID for Incoming Calls"

    Unchecking this box will not display the caller number and the ID will show as 000-000-0000.

  3. "Provide Caller Name for Incoming Calls"

    Unchecking this box will not display the caller name and the ID will show as "Unavailable".

  4. "Display incoming call information on my TV"

    Unchecking this box will prevent incoming call information from displaying on the TV.

Enable or Disable Caller ID on TiVo

  1. Press the TiVo button on the TiVo remote and arrow Left to select Menu.
  2. Go to Settings and select User Preferences.

  3. Select Caller ID from the list presented.

  4. Choose Yes to turn the Caller ID on or No to turn it off.

Troubleshooting TiVo / eBox

Customers having issues with Caller ID presenting on their TV should log into CommPortal to confirm their settings, as well as validate in the device Menu Settings that it is enabled.

If both are showing enabled, please contact our Technical Support department for further troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting Digital Converters

Customers having issues with Caller ID presenting on their TV should log into CommPortal to confirm their settings, as well as complete the steps listed below.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact our Technical Support department for further troubleshooting.

  1. Powercycle the box by unplugging it from power for 10 seconds and then plug it back in.
  2. Once the box is back online, press the Menu button on your remote once.
  3. On the Quick Menu use the arrow keys on the remote to highlight the ITV button and then press the OK/Select button.
  4. Once this is done it can take up to 24 hours to download and install the update.
